Rules of evaluation of simulated crowdfunding pilot action
Terms & conditions
The pilot action evaluation and selection procedure will be conducted by an expert commission (jury) ap-pointed by the partner responsible of the specific pilot action (CRIT or PROFACTOR).
The jury will be generally formed by a representative of the entity proposing the challenge and by a member of the Synergy team. Moreover, KPAs experts external to the SYNERGY team could be invited in the jury accord-ing to the specific PA. The members of the SYNERGY team will be nominated on a rotating basis. Each jury member will be required to sign a declaration of non-disclosure and stating that there’s no conflict of interest between the evaluator (jury) and participants.
Only the ideas submitted on time will access the evaluation process, which will follow common criteria.
Winners for each PA will receive by email a notification for winning, together with a pdf certificate stating the name of the winner, the proposed solution, the PA challenge that has been won and the value of the voucher.
Pilot action (PA) Simulated Crowdfunding
Simulated Crowdfunding foresees the launch of 7 regional crowdsourcing campaigns in all the SYNERGY consortium regions. One week after all regional events are finalized, the SYNERGY project awards with the voucher up to the 5 first projects that have reached the assumed budget goal (or were the closest to the goal in percentage terms).
For this PA, the service provided through voucher could be, for example, a research ordering, a patent analysis or the supply of materials (consumables) for prototype production of the winning good. After vouchers are as-signed to the winners, the finalised results of the challenge are published on the SCIP (deadline – before the final conference of SYNERGY).
Evaluation procedure and criteria
For this PA, no jury is foreseen, and no evaluation criteria are primarily considered, since the 5 awarded projects will be the ones that will reach more consent in terms of budget goal foreseen for the implementation of the campaigns (will be the closest to the goal) in percentage terms, which means the campaign with the higher budget reached wins (e.g. the campaign which reached 105% of the budget wins against the campaign which reached 101% of the budget).
Only in case of tie the following table (Table 1 Evaluation criteria PA Simulated Crowdfunding) will be used to decide the winning project. The evaluation will be performed by 3 SYNERGY members, which will give a score according to a set scale 1[min] – 5[max]; additional impact should be considered in terms of technological innovation.
Criteria that will be taken into account for the evaluation include:
1. Requirements: completeness of the project proposals and compliance with at least one of the 3KPAs (Industry 4.0, Additive manufacturing, Micro-nano technologies). The jury will evaluate if the idea presented is complete in all its parts and if it addresses properly the challenges of at least one of the 3 KPAs (max. 10 points);
2. Level of technological innovation and implementation of the idea: the innovation potential and the technical feasibility of the idea and references/capability/traceability of the idea giver (max. 15 points);
3. Budget goal: the jury will evaluate if the budget goal is realistic for the implementation of the project (max. 5 points).

Below, there’s the list of services that could be demanded by the “winners” of a campaign. After the delivery of services, the service providers will send CRIT or PROFACTOR the invoice and the winner will send an email to confirm the reception of the service.
Services could be used either for achieving the challenge solution or for purposes separate from the PA challenge.
