Materials for a barrel for pyrolysing crop waste to produce briquettes
Description
More than 3 billion people still cook with solid fuels. The most important of these is wood. Although logging for firewood is now illegal in many African countries, nearly 3 million hectares of threatened rainforest disappear every year. In addition, the prices of conventional fuels are rising steadily. Many households depend on these fuels for cooking and are getting into financial difficulties.
We want to replace wood and conventional coal as fuel with our biochar and thus protect rainforest resources, reduce CO2 emissions and improve the living standards of many people.
We have developed a low-cost system to produce biochar from crop residues. The charcoal burns cleaner and more efficiently than wood. Anything that is not used for home consumption can be sold for a profit. By setting up a local business with the help of existing local farmers' cooperatives, we increase the basic income of the local smallholders and generate financial security for the project in the future.
The aim of the crowdfunding is to purchase a barrel and the necessary material for pyrolysis.
