Battery Dismantling and Sorting Safety Challenge
A robotics lab has created a dismantling and sorting automated robotic systems for battery disassembly, from pack to module, and module to cell levels. However, ensuring the safety of this operation is of paramount importance, especially in cases where the batteries may start heating up, potentially leading to a fire hazard.
We invite innovative minds to take on the " Battery Dismantling and Sorting Safety Challenge”. Your task is to design a comprehensive safety system that can monitor, detect, and mitigate the risk of battery overheating and potential fires during the dismantling and sorting processes. Figure 1. Presents the robotized dismantling cell.
Note:
- The safety system should cost-effective, reliable, and capable of operating in a high-precision, fast-paced automation environment to prevent hazardous situations. It should not only detect abnormal temperature rises/Fire but also initiate immediate actions to suppress the risk. Your design should prioritize both the safety of the lab personnel and the preservation of valuable equipment.
- If you prepare a 3D design it will be great, but it is not mandatory. You can explain it via words as well (However keep it precise).
