Challenge is finished

In this challenge, participants are called upon to create a CAD design for a gripper inspired by the functionalities of origami mechanisms, taking cues from examples such as the forceps designed by BYU. Additionally, participants must articulate the specific technique for physically realizing the proposed design.

Design Guidelines:

The challenge encourages participants to explore the principles of origami in the context of developing an innovative gripping organ. The design should exhibit adaptability, precision, and efficiency in its gripping capabilities, drawing inspiration from the intricacies of origami folds. Participants are free to incorporate creative variations while ensuring that the final design is practical and applicable to real-world scenarios.

Required Specifications:

Apart from the CAD representation, participants are expected to clearly outline the chosen technique for the physical realization of the proposed design. This should encompass considerations such as materials, manufacturing processes, and any additional elements crucial for bringing the origami-inspired gripping organ to life.
