Pilot Action (PA) Design and Prototype Model

From August-October 2020, the SYNERGY project team is carrying out the Online Pilot Action “Design and Prototype Model” on the Synergic Crowd Innovation Platform (SCIP). This pilot action offers ideal opportunities to try out and learn from micro-working and social product development applications.

Challenge

Micro-working and social product development as a revolutionary process to design, create and manufacture innovative products.

HOUSE OF THE FUTURE: Call for development of a house ornament, object or piece of furniture with possibility of integration of advanced technologies (sensors, AI) that can help people with everyday activities and improve their quality of life.

For the purpose of this pilot action, a printable 3D CAD model of a prototype needs to be developed, with the description of the finalized solution. Upload your final solution to the SCIP, promote it online and collect as many “likes” as possible in order to be selected as the best solution.

The solution must be presented by a research teams of at least two platform users (SCIP accounts) who need to work together to provide solutions to the problem.

The solution must be submitted and uploaded on SCIP with a 3D CAD model (that could be 3D printed) and with a document explaining the problem the research team intends to solve and the solution they are suggesting (report, use the template below).

What we Offer

The Synergic Crowd Innovation Platform (SCIP) was developed to raise awareness about alternative funding ways and to give organizations and individuals the chance to collaborate within its Crowd Innovation pilot actions. The participants of this pilot action have the opportunity to test micro-working and social product development as a revolutionary process for designing, creating and manufacturing their own products. In addition, the winners of the online action will be awarded a voucher.

Target Groups

The participant target groups in this pilot action are very diverse and may include representatives from SMEs. BSOs, high schhol students, university students and other stakeholders from the general public.

The pilot action offers you the possibility to elaborate your own first solution draft with regard to the described challenge OR to look at the possible solutions on the SCIP and associate to one in order to create a research team (a research team must consist of at least two users).

Award for the Winners

The finished 3D/CAD models will be evaluated by the crowd through the “Like” functionality on the platform: the 3 idea that collects more “like” will be the winners. Each winning research team will get 10 plastic 3D printing gadgets of the proposed solution and a voucher. Voucher awarding will be based on the number of likes received by each research team (ranking):

·       1st classified 1.250€

·       2nd classified 1000€

·       3rd classified 750€

Voucher is assigned to 1 person (team leader) within the research team. This person must ensure that the voucher is benefited from all the members of the research team. Vouchers can be used to buy for services or stationery and electronic devices (consumables).
